Liz Ainley believes earlier years as a Prop Buyer in Theatre and Opera provided invaluable experience in understanding making processes, working to varying budgets and solving problems by thinking ‘outside the box’. In Film and Television Liz has a strong C.V. with credits such as Pride and Prejudice, The Imitation Game, Into the Storm, The Dig and Black Mirror. In 2014 after working on three films with the acclaimed Oscar winning Production Designer Luciana Arrighi and late Set Decorator Ian Whittaker, Luciana asked Liz to step up to the Set Decorator role for the film The Man Who Knew Infinity. This led to another film together, Come Away and a trip to Los Angeles as an advisor to the sets.

Other Set Decorator credits have followed including Munich: The Edge of War, Lady Chatterley’s Lover and Maestro (UK). Liz became Senior Assistant Set Decorator on Napoleon a week before filming began. In 2024 Liz headed a team of over thirty on a Paramount 10 episode series called NCIS: Tony & Ziva, filmed in Hungary.
