Jekaterina Potasova
FILM & DRAMA: GRAPHIC DESIGNER
COMMERCIALS & CONTENT: GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Film sets, museum archives, and historical research have shaped Kate’s career in equal measure. She began working in film and television while studying Design for Film and Television at Nottingham Trent University, and later completed a Master’s in History of Design at the RCA/V&A. Alongside Kate’s studies and film career, she also spent time working within museums and archives, which deepened her love of research and historical detail.
Kate has worked across productions set everywhere from the 1850s through to the present day, often becoming the unofficial in-house historian along the way. She is equally drawn to period and contemporary projects.
Over the years, Kate has worked across London, Manchester, Wales, Latvia, and Guadeloupe, both in person and remotely. Her experience ranges from Band 1 BBC comedies to Band 4 productions, alongside occasional translation work. She enjoys both leading departments and assisting others — one gives her the chance to shape a project creatively, while the other allows her to keep learning, collaborating, and supporting a team.
Kate is a member of BAFTA Connect, an avid cinema-goer, and a devoted reader.
Outside of her work, you’ll usually find her at a calligraphy or pottery class, or hiking up a hill somewhere.
