Ivan Weightman

Ivan is a professional Artist and Designer with a keen eye for detail and passion for storytelling and immersive design. Trained as an automative designer (MDes Hons) 2002, he has worked in the film industry for the last 16 years as a Concept Designer/Artist and Art Director with predominantly the last 12 years for Marvel UK & US feature film productions for Charles Wood & Ray Chan. His work frequently crosses both concept art and practical art direction from pre production idea generation for the film narrative, concept design, and set illustration through to 3D set design hand over for construction & VFX, that have successfully translated on screen.

While having a specialism in industrial and vehicle design, he has a broad knowledge to develop and design “on” and “off’ worlds from small-scale props through to sets, vehicles, and large environments. Being an early advocate of 3D, he has strong knowledge of manufacturing, rapid prototyping, virtual production and animation, and works well with VFX, SFX, and construction.
