David holds a BSc in Product Design and has worked in the film and television industry since 2013, beginning his career as an Art Department Assistant, prop maker, and set builder. He first began art directing commercials in 2017 before transitioning into drama and narrative work in 2019.
As a result of his background in product design and construction, David specialises in liaising with construction and SFX departments to achieve highly specific practical shots — whether that involves an ice bath instantaneously transforming into a hot tub, or a hero bedroom bursting into flames before miraculously changing colour.
He has a strong affinity for practical set builds and in-camera effects, and always prefers to capture elements practically wherever possible.
