Nick Chapman

Nick originally trained as an architect after art college, having spent much of his youth as a member of Bristol Old Vic Youth Theatre, performing in plays at the National Theatre and later in Edinburgh during university.

After three years working in architecture, Nick moved into the Film and TV industry in 2011, spending his first five years with ITV Daytime at the London South Bank studios. Here, he quickly developed a broad range of skills in live television, covering everything from graphic design and prop making to visiting prop houses, drafting for construction, creating visuals and working on standby.

In 2016, Nick made the move into drama, working freelance across a diverse range of productions and progressing from Assistant Art Director to Standby. His experience spans everything from soap operas in Elstree and period films in Malta to a sports comedy in West London, as well as historical fantasy and sci-fi productions in Hertfordshire. He has also designed short films and art directed a number of commercials, including projects in New York.

Nick went on to work as an Art Director on crime and period dramas in Newcastle and Liverpool before returning to London, where he has since worked as both an Art Director and Supervising Art Director.

Outside of work, Nick is a big fan of the 1960s and Hitchcock films, and enjoys painting in oils in his spare time.
