My interest in Production Design began with seeing Derek Jarman’s set for Ken Russell’s ‘The Devil’ and Giuseppe Bassan’s work with Dario Argento. I like giallo colour palettes, camp visual excess and neo noir. A background in Fine Art allows for aesthetic versatility and an ability to understand and adapt to different visual styles. Having assisted for a number of years, I have recently been working as Production Buyer and Art Director on smaller scale productions.
My work as an artist has been shown internationally. In 2020 I had my first major solo exhibition at The South London Gallery, showing ‘The Near Room’ a film produced by Film and Video Umbrella and ACE funded. Previous work has been commissioned by Serpentine Galleries and the South London Gallery; screened at Temporary Gallery, Cologne, Spike Island, Bristol, Govett-Brewster Gallery, New Zealand, Catalyst Arts, AMINI festival, Belfast, VCD festival, Beijing and Innsbruck Biennale, Austria; and hosted on vdrome.org. My most recent 2021 exhibition at Kapp Kapp Gallery in Philadelphia, showed a new body of sculptural work.
